Manufacturing processes require the careful and conscientious use of energy, water, and raw materials. That is why we continuously invest in the efficiency of our production processes and in resource optimization.

Our commitment is focused on:

reducing energy consumption through continuous improvement of our facilities;
monitoring and optimizing water usage;
limiting waste throughout the production process;
recycling by-products and promoting circular economy models;
progressively reducing the environmental impact of industrial activities.

We believe that innovation and sustainability are complementary and indispensable elements for addressing the future challenges of the agri-food sector.

A valuable partnership

The quality of our products comes from the fields, which is why we promote solid, long-lasting relationships with farmers and supply chain partners, encouraging practices focused on quality, traceability, and the enhancement of the local area. This is precisely why we require our tomato growers to hold ISCC Plus certification, which, in addition to ensuring fully traceable supply chains free from deforestation, also promotes adequate, fair, and respectful working conditions for everyone.

The proximity between agricultural production and industrial processing is also a key factor in supply chain efficiency, safeguarding the quality of raw materials, and reducing transport-related impacts: the average distance between the field and the processing plant is about 60 km for tomatoes and about 30 km for squash.

We operate according to principles of fairness, integrity, and transparency at all levels and throughout the entire supply chain. Sustainability requires governance that ensures compliance with regulations, high-quality processes, and open dialogue with all stakeholders: customers, suppliers, employees, and public and private entities.

Furthermore, we believe that for sustainability to be truly effective, it must play a fundamental role at the governance level: for this reason, ESG issues are addressed by the Boards of Directors to be integrated into corporate development strategies.

OUR COMMITMENT OVER THE YEARS

Concrete actions

Sustainability is a journey of continuous improvement built on analysis, investment, and opportunities to be grabbed. Over the years, step by step, this journey has translated into concrete actions that, in turn, serve as a springboard for the next steps.

Installation of two photovoltaic systems with a combined capacity of over 2 MWh, which, thanks to self-consumption, are able to meet approximately 10% of the annual electricity demand;
At least 30% of purchased electricity comes from renewable sources via Guarantees of Origin, bringing the total use of renewable electricity to nearly 40%;
Recovery and reuse of approximately 75% of treated effluent in the early stages of processing;
Installation of an MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) system to reduce gas consumption and lower direct CO2 emissions;
Recovery of processing by-products for energy purposes;
Development and promotion of circular economies for secondary packaging;
Adoption of corporate welfare policies;
Support for communities through product donations during festivals and patron saint celebrations;
Support for youth sports through the sponsorship of amateur sports associations;
Adoption of a Code of Ethics that defines behavioral guidelines both within and outside the company, including the fight against all forms of discrimination, corruption, forced labor, and slavery, and support for the rule of law, gender equality, mutual respect among people, transparency, and fairness;
Drafting and implementation of an Environmental and Energy Policy.

We will continue to invest in innovation, production efficiency, the protection of natural resources, and the development of our people, with the goal of contributing to an increasingly responsible agri-food system capable of creating value for future generations.
